Benjamin Netanyahu’s office says Israel’s cabinet won’t approve a ceasefire until Hamas drops demands for "last-minute concessions." The office stated, “Hamas reneges on parts of the agreement reached with the mediators and Israel in an effort to extort last-minute concessions. The Israeli cabinet will not convene until the mediators notify Israel that Hamas has accepted all elements of the agreement.”
The security cabinet meeting, originally scheduled for 11 am, was delayed.
The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation (KAN) reported that the reason for the delay is "the crisis with Smotrich and an attempt to ensure the stability of the government."
In response to the claims of Netanyahu's office, Hamas political bureau member Izzat al-Rishq said that "Hamas is committed to the ceasefire agreement, which the mediators announced."
